Neta Ledger aggregates criminal case records, education backgrounds, and asset declarations from election affidavits filed with the Election Commission of India — for every sitting MP and MLA in our dataset.
Bar length = total legislators analysed in that state; the red segment is how many declared a case. Longer red segment ≠ higher rate — check the full bar.

This tracks a specific, narrower slice of the criminal-case data above: charges whose own affidavit description names an offence against a woman — assault or criminal force to outrage modesty, insulting a woman's modesty, rape, stalking, voyeurism, dowry-related offences, and similar categories under IPC/BNS. It does not include every offence someone may describe informally as "against women" — only what the affidavit's own charge description names as such. As with every figure on this site, a declared case is an accusation on record, not a conviction; presumption of innocence applies until a court rules otherwise.
